Types of Toner and Inkjet Cartridges

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF TONER AND INKJECT CARTRIDGES?

Toner or Inkjet Cartridges for your Copier or Printer are available in three main types: OEM, Remanufactured and Compatible. Please review the main differences below.

OEM – The toner or ink, and cartridge that holds these products, are manufactured by the particular OEM that made your device. They are manufactured with very high standards of quality and are generally considered to be the best product you can install into your device.They are also the most expensive, which opens doors for other companies to offer cost saving options.

REMAN – Remanufactured cartridges are built using empty OEM cartridges that have not gone through any previous remanufacturing procedure. The process starts by inspecting them for damage and putting them through a thorough cleaning process. The next stage is changing any needed parts with the best quality products available, and then filled with the correct amount of quality toner or ink. The final stage for the toner cartridges can be the most difficult. Most newer OEM toner cartridges have Chips installed on the cartridge that will link with the device. If this Chip does not have the correct configuration, the device will not accept the cartridge. Itek takes great pride in only offering products that are manufactured with the same strict quality control as the OEM. Any Reman product purchased from Itek will preform equal to OEM at a far less cost.

COMPATIBLE – These cartridges use new built cores. They are designed to save as much money as possible, while still providing you satisfactory performance. Accomplishing this can be a challenge, as the products used to build compatible cartridges are not of the same quality standard as OEM cores. Good quality compatible cartridges are available and Itek takes great pride in offering products that will accomplish performance and savings. All Toner and Inkjet cartridges have a specific yield. Generally, the higher the yield, the faster the device, which puts added stress on the parts that make up the cartridge. Itek recommends only using compatible Toner Cartridges that have yields less than 6000 prints. Compatible Inkjets are generally low yield products. All Inkjets supplied by Itek will equal the yield of OEM & Remanufactured products. Following these recommendations will help save you time and energy.
